This pop-up hotel room made of two 20-foot shipping containers is the awesome result of a collaboration between booking app Hotel Tonight and Ovolo Hotels.

The Spontaneity Suite, as they called it, first made an appearance in a secret hilltop in Victoria’s Yarra Valley (Australia) in August and it offered spectacular views over a private vineyard and great green hills. First of its kind, this lavish travelling hotel room stayed there until September 5th and hit its affordability peak between August 27 and August 31 when it was available to book for $99 per night for four nights.

Getting back to its most distinct feature, the travelling hotel was soon available to book in Sydney’s harbour, floating and overviewing the stunning Sydney Opera House and the bay area. This time the pricing was different – it started at $32,000 and dropped by $1,000 every ten minutes until it was booked. All the money raised will be donated to different Australian charities.

But let’s get a look inside the Spontaneity Suite and see why this might just be the most saught-after hotel room in the world right now. Being fully equipped with numerous mod cons, including in-room technology with all the gizmos at one click away (Apple TV, keyless entry etc.), it also offers 5 star relaxation features like a rooftop jacuzzi and terrace and a cocktail station. The splendid views of wherever it may be placed won’t hide away when you leave the roof, as the bedroom comes with floor-to-ceiling windows.

You can book it for $99. Or, well… $32,000

Most of us placeaholics will enjoy the serenity it offers, without the hassle of waiting in line at the reception. But when you’ll want some precious info you won’t feel left alone as HotelTonight app offers a mobile concierge, an in-app feature that connects you to a virtual reception desk that’s always ready to answer your questions and guide you.

We’ve tried to hunt it down and find out what its next location will be but we learned that is a well kept secret. Instead, we’ve got one fact from Stefan Cordiner, HotelTonight Regional Director for Asia Pacific – “The Spontaneity Suite will be available throughout Australia, to satisfy their sense of adventure for exploring their backyard. The aim was to offer an intrepid yet comfortable experience to create the perfect night of escapism. We’re on a quest to make travelling more fun so thought it was fitting to deliver this unique luxury accommodation”.

Hard to believe, but this is the interior of a heavily modified shipping container.
